Workshop proposals
Prospective delegates are welcome to submit proposals to host workshops (e.g. stock assessment techniques using novel data, incorporating AI into fisheries monitoring, shark depredation), which will be held on the weekend preceding the conference. Both closed and open workshops will be accepted, where closed workshops are only open to invited delegates and open workshops will be open to all delegates. If a host would like to have open workshop but unable to carry the cost for the venue hire and catering, a fee can be charged to the delegates wishing to attend during the registration process. If you are interested in hosting a workshop, please submit the proposed title and a 500-word brief describing your workshop (including whether it is an open or closed workshop). If accepted, the organisers would need to liaise with the organising committee about booking a venue for your workshop on either Saturday or Sunday preceding the conference. Delegates will be able to register to attend the open workshops during the conference registration process.
Workshop costs:
The cost to host a workshop is R660.00 per attendee per day, and includes lunch at the venue restaurant, as well as morning and afternoon tea/coffee with snacks. Venues will be allocated based on workshop size, and will each be equipped with a basic projector and PA system if required.
